Creating winners within
Whether your child has recently started cricket and wishes to quickly upskill with intensive coaching or if they are wanting to further develop their skills, enjoy small side team challenges and benefit from targeted coaching from external guest coaches, The Graham McMillan High Performance Academy is the place to do it! Our coaches also assist players with developing a specific area or skill that they would link to improve on. Please speak to the Head Coach on the first day.
We have extensive experience in developing and implementing training and coaching programmes as well as “coach the coaches” courses and cricket administrators courses at a club, regional and national level. Sport is of course much more than just on field success and involvement, with deep rooted ties within communities, it invokes peoples passions and emotions, propelling them to strive to be the best they can be.
Unfortunately, sport is not a level playing field, there is often poor governance, with many’s true potential been left untapped. We experience that sport remains inadequately resourced, poorly managed and it’s true value has not been exposed in any real meaningful way.
All our programmes are geared towards growing the person within as well as the cricket skills. This is all geared in such a way to unleash the true human potential in sport and life. We have the experience and resources to ensure that we afford everyone the best possible opportunity to excel due to all the cogs been in place and working!
The GMHP Academy is the culmination of 35 years passion and love of the game by a sports mad, cricket obsessed young man who had a vision for himself and cricket in south Africa.
Coming from a cricketing and sports centred family, Graham McMillan has dedicate his life to the development of his first love, cricket. Starting out as a sports teacher in his early years, and then in a corporate capacity with the ICC and Cricket Namibia, his vision for the game for Africa is that talent is harnessed, developed and natured so that every person has the opportunity to realise his potential both on and off the field. Sport was Graham’s ticket out of a small mining town, and he is committed to uplifting and developing others through the game.
Our journey began in 1987 in South Africa, a sports mad country that prided itself as being a top-rated country on the field. South Africa at this time only allowed access to top-flight sport to a minority of its population. During this unequal period in our history we worked in various spheres in South Africa and Africa to assist and promote with cricket development to all.
You are never too young nor to old to play cricket, so start your journey with us today! With our track record, professional approach, world class coaches and facilities we can offer every cricketer, your or old, the best opportunity to reach their potential!
